BIOGREASE EP environmentally acceptable greases
Lithium/calcium synthetic-ester EAL greases (NLGI 0 and 2) for deck equipment, rudder stocks, propeller hubs and bearings; resist seawater wash-off.
Description
BIOGREASE EP is a lithium/calcium thickened grease based on fully saturated synthetic esters. It combines long-lasting corrosion protection with resistance to wash-off from rain and seawater and good load-carrying properties.
Key features
- BIOGREASE EP0: semi-fluid NLGI 0 grease for centralised lubrication systems or low temperatures; applied manually or by pump; -25°C to +140°C
- BIOGREASE EP2: NLGI 2 grease for bearings and as a protective coating for exposed equipment
- EP0 results: ASTM D1264 water wash-out excellent; ASTM D2596 EP performance excellent; ASTM D6138 rust (fresh and salt water) no corrosion; compatible with Nitrile and Viton
- Above 60% biodegradability (OECD 301B); LC50/EC50 above 1000 mg/l; meets the 2013 VGP EAL definition
Applications
Rudder stocks, propeller hubs and caps, deck equipment, wire ropes, antifriction and plain bearings, bushings and pins.
