About

Stolt Tankers traces its roots to group founder Jacob Stolt-Nielsen, who launched the world's first parcel tanker in 1959. It is one of the Stolt-Nielsen businesses alongside Stolthaven Terminals, Stolt Tank Containers, Stolt Sea Farm and Stolt Investments.

The company targets a 50% reduction in Scope 1 carbon intensity by 2030 (relative to 2008) and net zero CO2e emissions by 2050. Initiatives include active voyage management, hydrodynamic retrofits, graphene-based propeller and hull coatings, six methanol-convertible stainless steel parcel tankers ordered with NYK Line in 2024, and the low-water Rhine barge Stolt Ludwigshafen launched in 2023 with BASF. It holds EcoVadis and CDP ratings and has run an annual fleet safety competition, Team of the Year, since 2006.
