Automatic self-cleaning basket ballast water filters (Filtrex to 20 μm, Boll & Kirch to 25 μm) with 0.1–0.5 BAR pressure loss.
Description
The filter is the first treatment stage of the Optimarin BWTS. It removes larger particles and organisms from seawater during ballast or stripping operations, so they are captured before the water enters the UV stage. Filtration is only needed during ballasting; during de-ballasting the system bypasses the filter for swift discharge.
