Wärtsilä Reconditioning Services for Engine Components

Wärtsilä reconditioning services restore marine engine components to better or as-new condition, with the same dimensions, specifications and performance as new parts, at up to 50% lower cost. Reconditioned components come with a warranty, and the service is backed by more than 40 years of reconditioning experience.

What can be reconditioned

• Four-stroke connecting rods and cylinder heads
• White metal bearings

Both two-stroke and four-stroke engine parts are covered, for all major marine brands.

Service models

• Exchange parts: order a reconditioned part, install it and return the used part – minimises downtime and supports compliance for IMO-regulated parts. Covers Wärtsilä, WinGD and Sulzer 2- and 4-stroke engines and Wärtsilä and non-OEM exhaust treatment systems.
• Own parts reconditioning: send your used part to a Wärtsilä workshop; it receives an individual number in a database for full traceability and is returned restored.
• Already reconditioned parts from stock without returning an old part (availability varies by workshop).

Technologies

• QS50K™ for two-stroke piston heads: fully automated robotic process replacing hard chroming, with laser cladding, precision machining and grinding; makes ring grooves more wear resistant; two-year warranty on ring grooves; applicable to all low-speed two-stroke diesel engines regardless of brand (available in the Netherlands, Singapore and China).
• QS200 for exhaust valves: robotic welding and coating giving a temperature- and corrosion-resistant layer for longer time between overhauls; can recondition valves with significant burn-off; available in Kruiningen, Dubai, Singapore and Suzhou.
