Marine Dual Fuel Engine

Model 6EY26DF, 8EY26DF, 6EY22ALDF, 6EY26LDF, 8EY26LDF

Medium-speed dual fuel engines running on natural gas or diesel, compliant with IMO NOx Tier 3 and SOx ECA requirements.

Description

Yanmar's dual fuel engines can run on both diesel and natural gas and comply with IMO NOx Tier 3 as well as SOx Emission Control Area rules. Real-time analysis of cylinder internal pressure with high-speed control avoids knocking even on natural gas with a low methane number, so the engine can operate on natural gas in any region with no output restrictions.

Key features

  • Fuel can be switched from diesel to gas mode during navigation at 100% output, and back to diesel instantly and safely in emergencies
  • Ignition by micro-pilot fuel compression
  • Propulsion models 6EY26DF and 8EY26DF; auxiliary models 6EY22ALDF, 6EY26LDF and 8EY26LDF
  • 6EY26DF: 1533 kW shaft output, 122.6 L displacement; 8EY26DF: 2044 kW, 163.5 L
  • The 6EY22LDF is described as a world first for single-engine-single-shaft vessels

Applications

Propulsion and auxiliary power on commercial vessels operating on natural gas or diesel.
