Everllence B&W ME-LGIM Methanol Dual-Fuel Engine
Low-speed two-stroke dual-fuel engine running on methanol or conventional marine fuels, in service since 2016 with over 600,000 hours on methanol; 6,950–82,440 kW, 56–125 rpm, for newbuilds and retrofits.
Description
The Everllence B&W ME-LGIM (formerly MAN B&W ME-LGIM) is a low-speed two-stroke dual-fuel engine that runs on methanol or conventional marine fuels. In service since 2016, ME-LGIM engines have accumulated over 600,000 running hours on methanol alone. It is available for newbuilds and for retrofitting existing vessels.
Key features
- Built on the Everllence B&W two-stroke diesel engine platform, retaining key standard components
- Additional methanol components and pipework integrated in the cylinder cover area
- Engine tuned for methanol operation; seamless switching between methanol and fuel oil
- Methanol is liquid at ambient temperature and pressure, simplifying onboard storage and bunkering
- With green methanol, reduces GHG, particulate matter and SOx emissions and can provide carbon-neutral propulsion
- Connectivity-ready for Everllence PrimeServ Assist performance monitoring, diagnostics and remote support
Technical data
- Output: 6,950–82,440 kW at L1
- Speed: 56–125 rpm
Applications
Container vessels of all sizes, product tankers, VLCCs, ro-ro ships, PCTCs and bulk carriers. The L21/31DF-M methanol GenSet is offered as a matching auxiliary engine.
