About
Klamath was established in 1947 as Klamath Boat Co.; brochures from 1951 and 1954 carry the name Trailorboat Engineering Co. The company first built boats from lightweight aluminum with riveted panels and later moved to all-welded construction. The 14 Deluxe has been in the range since the 1950s.
All boats are fabricated, hand welded and fully assembled in Fairfield, California. Each hull is built one at a time rather than on a timed production line, and the company states it does not build 1,000 units a year.
In a 2026 press release Klamath announced a partnership with Boulton Powersports of Central Point, Oregon, a welded aluminum boat builder with over 50 years in the industry. Klamath said the partnership will add new features and extra strength while keeping its lightweight design.
