Inertial Metrology
Inertial metrology service using C-PINS, reducing vessel time versus LBL acoustic methods.
Description
Zupt's inertial metrology service uses its C-PINS inertial navigation system to obtain measurements between subsea assets for jumper and spool fabrication, without deploying an acoustic metrology array.
Key features
- Average saving of 50% vessel time compared with traditional LBL acoustic metrology, as stated by Zupt
- C-PINS needs a single subsea connection to the ROV
- Operates in shallow water and in the presence of drilling noise and vibration
- Usable on vessels, rigs or barges equipped with a work-class ROV
Applications
Jumper and spool metrology for subsea oil and gas installations.
