Samson Rope Equipment
Nystron - Coated
Coated double braid with high strength retention, energy absorption, shock mitigation and wet abrasion resistance.
Description
Nystron is a double braid providing high strength retention, good energy absorption and shock mitigation, and excellent abrasion resistance, especially in wet environments. It is fully spliceable and stronger than an all-polyester rope. The coating enhances abrasion resistance and provides color options, adding approximately 5% to the listed weight. Samson's timeline states that Nystron double braid was the first synthetic fiber rope used to moor an oil tanker to a loading buoy in the North Sea, in 1972.
