Description
The REINTJES VA 2451–4855 series are high-power reduction gearboxes without clutch, designed for controllable-pitch propeller (CPP) propulsion, covering 1,830–13,164 kW. Supplied by Karl Senner.

- No clutch: reverse thrust is handled by CPP pitch
- Up to 13,164 kW continuous duty at 1,200 rpm (VA 4855)
- Two factory-standard reduction ratios per model
- Sub-ranges: VA 2400–2700, 3400–3500 and 4800–4900
Standard design
- Fabricated steel housing
- Helical gears, case-hardened and tooth-flank ground
- Integrated propeller thrust bearing; roller or plain bearings
- Pressure-fed lubrication
- Built-on seawater-resistant heat exchanger, max. cooling water inlet 32 °C (90 °F)

- Shaft brake/shaft locking, trolling valve (ADS)
