Description
Alfa Laval offers marine equipment and solutions for ammonia as fuel, building on its experience with LNG, LPG and methanol fuel handling.
Products
- FCM Ammonia – complete solution for safe and efficient use of ammonia as marine fuel, comprising fuel supply system, ammonia release mitigation system and fuel valve train. Full-scale testing started in Winterthur at the end of 2024 (test bench at the WinGD Engine Research and Innovation Centre). First contract: seven LPG/ammonia carriers for Tianjin Southwest Maritime.
- Aalborg ammonia dual-fuel boiler system – meets the ship's heat demand and reduces ammonia release by incinerating ammonia vapour from purge/vent streams and boil-off gas. First order for a fleet of four ammonia dual-fuel vessels, for delivery in 2027–2028.
- Ammonia Release Mitigation Systems (ARMS) – water- and boiler-based technologies combinable into compact solutions.
- Heat exchangers – fatigue-resistant, fully serviceable units for ammonia, including SWPHE for LPG and ammonia cargo handling.
- Tank management – Scanjet tank cleaning technology and tank management systems.
