Description

The ME-GI/GIE Pump Vaporiser Unit (PVU) is a standardized fuel gas supply unit that delivers LNG or ethane at the pressure and temperature required by Everllence B&W ME-GI and ME-GIE two-stroke dual-fuel engines. It integrates with the vessel's fuel gas supply system (FGSS) and the engine control system.

Working principle

Cryogenic LNG/ethane is supplied to the PVU by a cryogenic centrifugal fuel pump
A high-pressure reciprocating pump with three cylinders, actuated by linear hydraulic pistons, pressurizes the fuel
The pressurized fuel is heated by warm glycol water in a compact printed circuit heat exchanger
Gas then flows to the gas valve train (GVT) and the engine; delivery pressure is controlled by hydraulic flow control of the pump
