Beta 35 Saildrive Engine (24.5 kW / 35 hp)
Beta 35 marine diesel engine with shallow sump, 24.5 kW / 35 hp @ 2,800 rpm, supplied with a Technodrive SeaProp 60 saildrive or with adaptor kits for existing Volvo 110S/120S/130S, Yanmar SD20 or Bukh saildrives. EPA Tier III compliant.
Description
The Beta 35 Saildrive package from Beta Marine US combines the Beta 35 marine diesel engine (24.5 kW / 35 hp @ 2,800 rpm) with a shallow sump and a saildrive interface. It is intended as a repower solution for sailing yachts with saildrive installations and is EPA Tier III (40 CFR 1042) compliant; recreational use only.
Saildrive configurations
- With Technodrive SeaProp 60 saildrive: combined with Beta's special feet option it drops into existing Volvo or Yanmar saildrive GRP mouldings; Bukh replacements need Beta's optional GRP moulding. Clockwise or anti-clockwise output, reduction ratio 2.15:1 or 2.38:1; the leg can be turned 180° so the engine sits directly over the propeller. Package includes engine housing to mate with the SeaProp 60 bracket, through-hull fitting with twin diaphragm seal and engine fresh water cooling valve. Die-cast aluminium alloy transmission, hardened and corrosion treated, with sacrificial zinc anodes. Engine and leg ship together, packed separately.
- With adaptor kit: housing adaptor plate allows the engine to mount directly on an existing Volvo 110S, 120S, 130S, Yanmar SD20 or Bukh saildrive.
- Optional SeaProp 60SD split anode kit lets the anode be changed without removing the propeller.

- Flywheel housing and drive plate with heavy inertia ring
- 70 A, 12 V alternator; options: 120 A 12 V in lieu of standard, 120 A 12 V secondary domestic alternator
- ABV control panel (tachometer, hour recorder, keystart, alarms for oil pressure, water temperature and alternator no-charge) with 3 m loom; A, ABVW, B, BW, C Deluxe and CW Deluxe panels optional
- Heavy-duty feet and flexible mounts; custom engine mounts available
- Guide propeller sizing based on 2-blade folding propeller, 2:1 reduction
- Minimum recommended battery: 12 V 70Ah 450CCA (not included)
