Ilmor MV8 6.0L gasoline inboard engine with variable valve timing: 5.96L, 285 kW (382 HP) at 5200 RPM, 557 Nm torque; OPS closed-cooled version for saltwater use.
Description
The Ilmor MV8 6.0L is a gasoline inboard marine engine featuring variable valve timing. A dual-equal hydraulic cam phaser adjusts intake and exhaust cam timing at the same rate, advancing timing for low-end torque and retarding it for high-RPM horsepower.
The engine is also available as an Ocean Performance Series (OPS) variant for saltwater or other closed-cooled applications. OPS engines provide tighter temperature control than open-cooled systems, improve catalyst performance through temperature control, optimize fuel and spark across the operating range, and offer full-system corrosion protection with environmentally friendly coolant.
