Description

The Beta 14 Saildrive is a 9.9 kW (13.5 hp) at 3,600 rpm marine diesel engine package for sailing yachts, offered as a replacement engine with a new SeaProp 60 saildrive leg or with an adaptor to an existing saildrive (Volvo 110S adaptor not applicable for this model).

SeaProp 60 saildrive package

The engine is fitted with a shallow sump and mated to a Technodrive SeaProp 60 saildrive which, with Beta's special feet option, drops into an existing Volvo or Yanmar saildrive GRP moulding (replacing a Bukh leg requires Beta's optional GRP moulding). The SeaProp 60 accepts clockwise or anti-clockwise output rotation, is available in 2.15:1 or 2.38:1 reduction, and the leg can be turned through 180 degrees so the engine sits directly over the propeller. The package includes engine, housing to mate with the SeaProp 60 mounting bracket, through-hull twin diaphragm seal and engine fresh water cooling valve. The transmission is die-cast aluminium alloy, hardened and corrosion-treated, with sacrificial zinc anodes; an optional split anode kit allows anode changes without removing the propeller.
