Natural Frequency Analysis
Eigenvalue assessment of structural mode shapes, including added mass, to diagnose vibration damage from propeller, engine or machinery excitation.
Description
MCA performs natural frequency analysis through eigenvalue assessments of structural mode shapes. The analysis includes the effects of added mass from entrained fluids.
It is used to diagnose and remedy structural damage resulting from vibration caused by propeller-induced pressure pulses, the main engine or other rotating machinery.
Key features
- Eigenvalue assessment of structural mode shapes
- Added-mass effects of entrained fluids included
- Diagnosis of vibration-induced structural damage
Applications
- Structure excited by propeller-induced pressure pulses
- Vibration from main engines and other rotating machinery
- Design of remedial structural modifications
