Fugro's 12 m Blue Essence USVs used for remote pipeline and subsea infrastructure surveys.
Description
Blue Essence USVs are Fugro's uncrewed surface vessels. In a 2024 North Sea project for Harbour Energy on the 100 km Britannia gas export pipeline, two 12 m Blue Essence USVs (Fugro Orca and Fugro Vaquita) were controlled from the Aberdeen remote operations centre alongside the crewed vessel Atlantis Dweller.

- Fugro Orca completed a 74.16 km multibeam echo sounder survey using 1,315 litres of fuel
- Fugro Vaquita conducted a 27 km survey using 1,541 litres
- Controlled remotely from the Aberdeen remote operations centre
