Overrunning clutches for gas turbine starting drives, turning gears and marine air starters.
Description
Over 40,000 SSS Clutches have been supplied for auxiliary drives, including turning gears and gas turbine starter drives, on machines from 100 kW gas turbines to steam turbo-generators over 1,500 MW.
Key features
- Can replace jaw clutches, engaging when the starter overtakes the turbine whether it is rotating or stationary
- Sizes 45T and 64T
- For marine use, the Size 45T clutch replaced a sprag clutch on the air starter of a DDG51 gas turbine generator set
- Bolts directly to the gearbox high-speed pinion shaft
