WETS Wave Energy Transfer System
Wave energy system that converts ocean wave motion into electricity to power seafloor sensors, AUVs and remote coastal locations, offered with partner C-Power.
Description
Roper Resources has developed WETS (Wave Energy Transfer System), which uses the continuous power of ocean waves to generate electricity for powering sensors on the seafloor and providing energy for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs).
Applications
- Powering seafloor sensors
- Recharging autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), with partner C-Power
- Complete wave power systems for remote coastal villages
The company designs and implements wave energy conversion systems, including complete wave power systems for remote coastal villages, and partners with C-Power to power underwater activities such as AUVs and seafloor sensors. The site cites the first renewable power recharge of a Saab Sabertooth vehicle at a WETS demonstration in 2023.
