Høglund Fuel Gas Control
Control and safety system for LNG fuel gas supply systems, split into a Gas Control System for supply and bunkering and a Gas Safety System for leak, pressure and level monitoring and shutdown.
Description
Høglund Fuel Gas Control monitors, controls and safeguards the fuel gas supply on gas-fuelled vessels. It is split into a separate Gas Control System (GCS) and Gas Safety System (GSS).
Gas Control System (GCS)
- Monitors and controls the general fuel supply process of the fuel gas supply system (FGSS)
- Designed for largely automatic operation; no 24/7 operator monitoring required, but an operator must be on board and on call for alarms or events
- Used to perform bunkering and monitor vital bunkering process parameters
Gas Safety System (GSS)
- Monitors safety-critical elements of the FGSS, including piping integrity, escape of explosive gases and LNG fuel system malfunction
- Monitors safety-critical sensors in the LNG fuel system such as pressure and level
- Handles manual shutdown actions
- Executes actions according to the cause and effect matrix
