5112 Ropeless Fishing System
Acoustic-release on-demand fishing gear system that removes the vertical surface line and buoy.
Description
Developed with input from lobster fishermen to eliminate vertical lines connecting a surface buoy to bottom fishing gear until retrieval, reducing whale entanglement risk. Deployed like another lobster trap using acoustic command and control.
