SCR Optimization with MES 1001 CEMS
Using the Danfoss IXA MES 1001 analyzer downstream of marine SCR systems for closed-loop urea dosing, NH3 slip measurement and early detection of SCR degradation under IMO Tier III.
Description
SCR Optimization with MES 1001 CEMS applies the Danfoss IXA MES 1001 continuous emission analyzer downstream of a ship's Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system. Real-time NOx measurement replaces load-based urea dosing, improving NOx reduction under IMO Tier III, particularly during transient operation.
Key features
- Urea dosing optimised to actual NOx reduction demand, for monitoring or closed-loop control
- Optimised NOx output across steady and transient engine loads
- Direct NH3 slip measurement for SCR condition monitoring
- Early detection of catalyst degradation, incorrect dosing or bypass operation
- Reduced risk of ammonium bisulfate formation, fouling and back-pressure increase
Yanmar has tested the MES 1001 sensor for NOx, SO2 and NH3 in a closed-loop application with its SCR technology.
