Description
The VULKAN MEGIFLEX TC is a compact displacement coupling with integrated thrust bearing for propeller shafts up to 80 mm in diameter. It uses two MEGIFLEX B elements in a cardanic arrangement and is installed between gearbox and propeller shaft.
Propeller thrust is taken by the thrust bearing, which is flexibly mounted to the hull. This allows the gearbox to sit on soft elastic mounts, significantly improving acoustic comfort on board. The coupling compensates radial, axial and angular misalignment while isolating structure-borne noise. It extends VULKAN's PROPFLEX range and combines a standardized, modular MEGIFLEX B element with project-specific components.
