Charge Air Coolers
Custom liquid-cooled shell and tube charge air coolers for turbocharged or supercharged engines, including marinised engines.
Description
Charge air coolers (intercoolers) reduce the temperature of air that has passed through a turbocharger before it enters the engine. This increases intake air-charge density and produces more power for a given displacement. Thermex designs them to order.
Key features
- Custom designed in a traditional round shell and tube structure or a square profile
- For liquid-cooled applications, with both fresh and seawater
- High density finned tube stacks maximise surface area and keep designs compact
- Material options for marinised engines
Applications
- Marinised engines on commercial, recreational and naval vessels
- Commercial vehicles, PSVs and off-highway equipment
