Single-activation slide-based evacuation system for low freeboard vessels, deploying onto a large inflatable buoyant apparatus.
Description
The LSA SAFE is a slide-based evacuation system that lets passengers on a low freeboard vessel quickly abandon ship directly onto a large inflatable buoyant apparatus (IBA) in an emergency. The system is approved by USCG and Transport Canada by Lloyds Register.
Key features
- Made from durable, lightweight advanced polyurethane coated fabrics, built with high frequency welding and cold stick adhesive bonding
- One crew member is required to deploy it
- Stowed with the primary IBA in a purpose-built aluminium storage unit; link IBAs can be stowed in an adjacent rack and connected by permanently rigged lines
- Inflated by high pressure aluminium cylinders filled with a CO2/N2 mix
- Packed weight of 640kg for the 4m Mini Evacuation Slide with 150-person IBA liferaft
