GPS/Heading Sensors

Solid-state GPS and heading sensors; GH2183 combines both with 2 degree dynamic heading accuracy for autopilots, plotters and radar.

Description

The patented G2183 GPS, H2183 Heading Sensor and combined GH2183 deliver GPS positioning and heading. The GH2183 needs only one above-deck installation and uses solid-state components. With dynamic-motion correction it maintains 2 degree heading accuracy with pitch and roll up to 30 degrees, and a temperature-compensated three-axis accelerometer and rate gyro provide tilt and rate-of-turn data.

Key features

  • Static heading accuracy better than 1 degree; dynamic 2 degrees RMS
  • GPS position accuracy 3 m (10 ft) with WAAS
  • Simultaneous NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 outputs
  • 9 to 40 VDC supply; IPX6 rated

Applications

  • Heading input for autopilots, chart plotters and radar overlay
  • Metal-hulled boats
