About
The firm was founded in Seattle in 1997 by Hal Hockema as Hal Hockema & Associates. It grew through the acquisition of Fisker-Andersen & Whalen Inc. in 2004 and a marine electrical consulting practice in 2013, and was previously known as Hockema & Whalen Associates, Inc. and Hockema Whalen Myers Associates, Inc. (HWMA). It took the name Hockema Group, Inc. in January 2021.
The central office is in the Ballard district of Seattle, with an additional Oregon office; staff also work from home offices across five states.
