Classic Rudders

Full spade rudders with no rudder angle limitation in bulbous, medium and slim profiles for low to high speeds, with direct trunk, neck bearing or heel support; ice-class compliant.

Description

Neuver Classic rudders are full spade rudders that use the full rudder area for manoeuvring, offering an economical way to improve the manoeuvring capability of most vessels. There is no rudder angle limitation. Rudder size and type are optimised per vessel using manoeuvring simulations such as the IMO zig-zag test.

Profiles

  • Classic Bulbous – lower speeds; large vane end plates for maximum lift and high stalling angles (same profile as FB flap rudder)
  • Classic Medium – medium speeds; tapered or rectangular blade balancing manoeuvrability and propulsive efficiency (as FM flap rudder)
  • Classic Slim – higher speeds; tapered blade with rounded corners, reduced cavitation risk (as FS flap rudder)

Support types

  • Direct Trunk Support – no rudder size limitation
  • Neck Bearing Support – robust and simple to maintain
  • Heel Support – enhanced stability; durable in ice and protects the propeller

Trunk configurations

  • Standard; standard with steering gear foundation (fits all KM steering gear); extended for minimum installation time with optional fairwater and hull plating

Key features

  • Open water, nozzle and ice-class compliant
  • Promas solution with twisted leading edge
  • Rudder Health Monitoring
